NEW YEAR’S EVE TRADITIONS IN POLAND

The last day of a year is called sylwester in Poland The last day of a year is called sylwester in Poland. It’s a male name and 31st of December is a Sylwester’s name day. Traditionally, we farewell old year participating in all kinds of parties: at home with a family, at the discos or at smart receptions. Many people decide to go to their town’s or city’s squares – there are concerts and firework presentations. Everyone dances and has lots of fun with their friends.

At midnight, we have a toast with champagne and we wish all the best in New Year one another. You can hear “New Year!” everywhere and bangers’ noise. People look at the sky to admire beautiful fireworks. We often have fun until the morning.
