Multiplication Using Manipulatives & Algorithms for Whole-Number Multiplication

Repeated Addition Build the following problems with the base 10 blocks using repeated addition. Draw a sketch of your work below. 7 x Algorithm

Video: Area & Array Model with Partial Products Algorithm Video with manipulatives along with array model and partial products algorithm

Partial Products Algorithm for multiplication: ▫Break apart numbers according to the place value of each digit. ▫Multiply each digit according to its place value to obtain partial products. ▫Add the partial products to find the final product.

Complete the following problems using the array model and show the partial products algorithm: 23 X x 23 Solutions are on the next two slides

23 x x 20 = x 3 = x 20= x 3 = x = 1104

356 x x 300 = x 50 = x 6 = x 300 = x 50 = x 6 = x = 8188

Video: Lattice Approach Video link to lattice approach Try 456 x 45 using the lattice approach. Solution is on the next slide.
