Are tallgrass prairies containing some of the worlds most fertile soils, composed of grasses, and forbs. During the dry season there are series of violent thunderstorm and dry winds that indicate the start of it. The wet season is indicated by violent thunderstorms.

The South American Pampas is located in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. The latitude is 34° and 30° S, 57° and 63° West

The Pampas deer is an endangered and rare species. They are near extinction, the population is under 80,000 in South America. They are reducing in number because there is only 1% of their habitat remaining. The habitats have been taken for agriculture.

People impact the grasslands by hunting the large mammals and it has affected the vegetation. The land that has been used for agriculture has been damage due to the over grazing by the livestock.
