System Training It is essential that you arrange for training on any campus multimedia podium system before you use it ! TO ARRANGE FOR TRAINING PLEASE CALL THE CTL AT X5347 Know WHAT you are using and HOW to use it !

System Overview APC Net9RM Surge Protector Altinex Switcher ( PC Source) DVD Player VCR Kramer Switcher Art Mixer ( Volume Control )

System Power Up Step 1. Use the APC Net9RM to power up all equipment in podium except the PC. Step 2. Power up PC

TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES STEP 1. Point Sharp remote at LCD Video Projector to turn it on (takes a moment for lamp to warm up). Press “Video” button to change projector to video input. lamp to warm up). Press “Video” button to change projector to video input. * NOTE: To Power Off Projector, Press the “Standby” Button Twice. * NOTE: If the projected image is too large and is past the edge of the screen, hit the “RESIZE” button as many times as needed to correct the problem.

TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES STEP 2. Insert video tape into VCR VCR

TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES STEP 3. Press “Input 1” on Kramer switcher (to route VCR video and audio signal) STEP 4. Play tape by using remote & pressing “play” button. ( Must be behind podium pointing remote at VCR). VCR

TO PLAY VIDEO TAPES STEP 5. Adjust audio volume using Art Mixer (Knob labeled “VOLUME”)

TO PLAY DVD STEP 1. Point Sharp remote at LCD Video Projector to turn it on (takes a moment for lamp to warm up). Press “Video” button to change projector to video input. lamp to warm up). STEP 2. Open DVD Player and insert DVD TO PLAY DVD DVD

STEP 3. Press “Input 3” on Kramer switcher (to route DVD video and audio signal) TO PLAY DVD STEP 4. Use the DVD Remote to navigate around the DVD Menu and play the DVD. (Must be behind podium pointing remote at VCR DVD

TO PLAY DVD STEP 5. Adjust audio volume using Art Mixer (Knob labeled “VOLUME”)

TO USE ELMO DOCUMENT CAMERA STEP 1. Point Sharp remote at LCD Video Projector to turn it on (takes a moment for lamp to warm up). STEP 2. Un-lock Document camera drawer. A Document camera is permanently installed in the side drawer of the podium. Set- up lamps and use the camera per system training.

STEP 2. Press “Input 4” on Kramer switcher (to route PC audio signal) TO USE PC STEP 3. Power on the PC and use as usual PC

TO USE Optional USB Devices To hook-up optional USB devices, use the USB extension cable, located in the cable well. USB Extension Cable USB Flash Drives USB External Hard Drives USB items may include such devices as:

TO USE Optional Laptop Hookup STEP 1. Hook laptop up to cable coming out of cable well on podium VGA Video Cable

STEP 2. Flip rocker switch on Altinex Switcher to right side. NOTE: When finished using, always return equipment to its original state! (Rocker switch to left side) TO USE Optional Laptop Hookup

STEP 3. Use function keys (specific to your laptop) to activate laptop display

When using the “input” buttons on the Sharp remote use this guide: Helpful Hint Page COMPUTER 1 = Computer Screen OTHER INPUTS = Nothing (Splash Screen) VIDEO = Video Sources REMEMBERREMEMBER Power Point Presentation Word Programs Excel Programs CD-ROM Programs Web Pages VHS Video Tape Document Camera Image DVD Movies STANDBY = OFF “RESIZE” corrects projector display size
