T YPES OF SOUND Dialogue Voice should match message (tone, volume, speed) Sound effects Synchronous – match a physical event happening in the scene (phone ringing, door closing, etc.) Asynchronous -not matched with a visible source of the sound on screen but enhance emotional experience (ambulance when couple is fighting) Music Enhances emotional experience Foreshadows change in mood
