Preparing for Project Presentations How to organize the presentation, and key points to keep in mind when presenting

Items to Include in Your Presentation Company background Company’s previous experience with improvement efforts such as BPM BPM plan overview Details of your analysis of the company: Any strategic planning information you were able to get from the company Balanced scorecard and key performance indicators Value chain Network of processes Link between process and performance measures Description of how improvement efforts will be integrated Governance model BPM assessment results BPM sustainability approach Summary of the experience: how it went, what you learned (you could show the teamwork tools information here, if you want) BA 553: Business Process Management

Organizing Your Presentations I’ll introduce the teams and the topic to the audience What are your thoughts regarding the organization of your presentation? How many slides do you think you should have for a 30- minute team presentation? BA 553: Business Process Management

Presentation Tips Show up early – being late will only add to the stress Tell a story Make eye contact You can move around, but don’t pace too much Be familiar with your slides – don’t just read them, talk about them and the content on them (also, don’t read from notecards) Speak clearly and with sufficient volume Don’t go too fast – you have more time than you think Don’t put too much information on any one slide – make sure the content is readable (use font size 22 minimum if possible, except where presenting flowcharts or tables) You can use humor, but avoid the use of cartoons, as this is a formal project presentation BA 553: Business Process Management
