Introduction/Background info. We decided to focus more on the economic side of New Orleans, LA by emphasizing the amount of Jobs that were lost and gained pre- and post- Katrina. By focusing on this side of things we’ll see the impact on NOLA’s economy with the loss or growth of jobs due to hurricane Katrina. There have been a lot of jobs created in the tourism industry thanks to the effects of Katrina ironically. The devastation that Katrina caused made people from across the global want to come and help the refugees that suffered from Katrina. Significance In a few years we all will be graduating high school then eventually from college and we will be out in the “real world,” and we’ll need to get a job. Showing how the economy is affected by the job growth and decrease by hurricane Katrina will help you to get a job. With NOLA in the current state of recovering more jobs are being opened up to try and restore it’s economy back to how it used to be before Katrina. What you can take away from this If you haven’t figured out what you can do to help out yet well you’re going to now. After you graduate from college you’re going to need to find work to help support yourself and/or your family. With the restoration of New Orleans jobs are being added to help bring back up the economy and stabilize it. Also, this would help our country as a whole to help our nation’s economy, so it’s like a double-edge sword. If you haven’t figured out what you can do to help out yet well you’re going to now.
