Poverty in brazil By Alisha khan homie jay

What is the extent of poverty in brazil?

Violence is a huge problem 74% live in households where the head of the household has less than four years of schooling. Many of the poor in brazil are not given equal access to health care, education, employment, land, water and sanitation facilities. 22.6% or 34.9 million Brazilians live in poverty

What are the causes of poverty in brazil ?

Lack of proper education. The children who have access to schools do not get a good education, others need to work to supplement the family's income Lack of proper infrastructure in transportation, telecommunications, and utilities. A political environment of corruption, nepotism and bureaucracy, with politicians who pretty much buy the poor families' votes with food, promises of jobs, and other things

What programs/strategies have been put in place in attempt to alleviate poverty?

Brazil is working hard to lift 25 million out of poverty this year. Brazil has launched another multibillion-dollar antipoverty plan, called Brazil Without Misery They are providing a small amount of money to families living in poverty. And making more schooling facilities for those who can not afford to send their children to work!

Evaluate these programs and evaluate on their degree of success

I think in overall the progress brazil has been doing is working out great. Brazil has actually made some good progress in lifting their families out of poverty. They have been able to reach their goal in bringing over 1 million out of poverty.

What else needs to be done?

I think all the countries need to donate some money to brazils life misery in brazil program They need to start cleaning their water more and lifting diseases from food, seeds and animals. The government need to take some initiative and re building homes as most families are living in make do houses, made of tin. They need to build a better education system.

i just found this a tad hilarious.. But here are some video’s about brazil and their poverty issues
