2. Many African children have to get up early so that they can get to school on time – often at about 5am!

3. They have to walk about 5 miles each way to school. Many of these children also have to walk with no shoes!

4. Older children in poor families may be fortunate enough to own a pair of flip-flops.

5. They also have to walk a few miles each day collecting water, before and after school.

6. Getting an education is so important to poor children as it can help them get out of poverty.

7. Send a Cow helps poor families like these to make money by producing more food on their land.

8. The money that they make buys shoes, school books and means they can send their children to school – giving them a brighter future.
