SFDRR and the private sector SFDRR gives a prominent role to the private sector, who is recognized as a key stakeholder for reducing risks of disasters and building resilient communities. The Five Private Sector Visions for a Resilient Future, developed by PSP as a lead of the Business and Industry Major Group, influenced the new Framework. Vision 1: Strong Public Private Partnerships Vision 2: Resilience in the Built Environment Vision 3: Risk-sensitive Investments and Accounting Vision 4: Positive Cycle of Reinforcement for a Resilient Society Vision 5: Private Sector Risk Disclosure

These can be drivers of innovation, growth and job creation. SFDRR: Private sector mentions SFDRR mentions the private sector both as actors, working with governments to implement the Framework, and also as targets of the action, those who need to be enlightened. SFDRR mentions a wide range of industry sectors and activities, because private sector is diverse group.  Think of the many mentions as many entry points to start engaging the private sector.
