DEFINITION OF NON-FICTION DEFINITION: -Non-fiction is the form of any narrative, account, or other communicative work whose assertions and descriptions are understood to be factual. -However, non-fictions are not always accurate – they are believed to be truthful by the author at the time of their composition, or posed to their audience as historically empirically true.

PATTERNS IN NON-FICTION -Problem/solution - How to deal with greenhouse gases? -Cause/effect -How does greenhouse gases take effect on global warming? -Compare/contrast -what are the similarities and disparities of a horse and a donkey? -Question/answer -Sequence of events in time order -Description, definition, or list

CREATIVE NON-FICTION Definition: Creative non-fiction is a genre of writing that uses literary styles and techniques to create factually accurate narratives. For a text to be considered creative nonfiction, it must be factually accurate, and written with attention to literary style and technique.
