Today we will determine what the simple subject of a sentence is. determine = understand

Maria went to the store to buy some milk. Who went to the store to buy milk? Javier feels sick. Who feels sick? The cloud covered the sun. What covered the sun?

simple subject : who or what (the noun), that the sentence is about examples: The elephant smashed the watermelon. My sister yells at me when I touch her stuff. Books are so fun read. Six Flags is my favorite amusement park.

Why is it important to know what a subject is ? to know what the most important part of the sentence is to understand what you are reading to write complete sentences

How do I find the subject? 1)Read the sentence. 2)Think who or what it is about. 3)Choose the word that tells who or what is doing something.
