MODULE 4 LEARNING GUIDE Process Improvement

MODULE 4 LEARNING GUIDE In this module, we will learn about the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle for process improvement. This process improvement methodology is useful for improving unit based quality initiatives. Learning Objectives 1.The learner will compare and contrast the different components of the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) model. 2.The learner will identify one Nurse Sensitive Indicator that does not meet the national benchmark, and design a plan for improvement using the PDCA model.

MODULE 4 LEARNING GUIDE Module 4 Assessment Create a short PowerPoint Presentation (maximum of 4 slides) that describes the nurse sensitive indicator you have chosen from Module 3. Map out a PDCA cycle to improve the outcomes of this indicator. Provide at least 2 references in your presentation and Submit to the Carmen drop box by 11:59pm the day before class. You will be given 10 minutes during the synchronous class to explain your PDCA presentation to your colleagues (50 points).
