I Can Draw A Map

This is a map of my neighborhood. tree Long Street James Street pond school hospital park fire station home police School Road store

You can draw a map too. It is fun. I drew this map today. tree Long Street James Street pond school hospital park fire station home police School Road store You can draw a map too. It is fun.

First I drew the streets in my neighborhood. Long Street James Street James Street and Long Street cross each other.

School Road and James Street meet each other. Long Street School Road James Street This map is called a street map. It only shows the streets around my neighborhood.

I drew pretty green trees and a big blue pond. Next I drew the park. park trees pond I drew pretty green trees and a big blue pond.

Next I drew the buildings in my neighborhood. park trees pond

I wrote the names on all of the buildings. school store fire station police station park trees hospital home pond

Some maps have a key. A key is used to describe the pictures that you draw. tree pond school hospital street home fire station police road store Key

I can make a key. Map Key pond I drew the same picture I used on my map and wrote the word pond on the side of it.

I did the same thing for each picture on my map I did the same thing for each picture on my map. Now I have a key for my neighborhood map. tree pond school hospital street home fire station police road store Key

Sometimes maps have a compass. west south east north A compass is also easy to draw.

First I drew a box with two lines in it.

Next I drew arrows on each side of my lines.

Finally I put my directions. west south east north Directions tell me how to get from one place to another.
