Internet Job- Search Process

Changes in the Search In the past, people were able to find jobs in the newspaper, now most are online. You need access to a computer and an address. Some companies post jobs on their own website, others use clearinghouse sites like monster.com or CareerBuilder.com.

Technology Use More Common Many employers do not accept paper applications. Instead, they want you to create a profile and apply online. Some companies even conduct interviews online.

The Fundamentals Networking in Smart Ways Marketing Yourself Preparing a well-edited, focused resume and cover letter. Have a cover letter that is specific to the job. Have a resume that is somewhat tweaked for the job.

Create a Brand Identity Online Instead of posting your resume on a static Website, design a multimedia portfolio online. For example, include a blog, examples of your accomplishments, your goals, your vision, etc.
