Research at UCR

What is research?  At UCR research is the investigation and study of sources to better the world around us.  UCR offers research for:  CNAS  CHASS  UCR also offers internship opportunities  Checkout Scotlinks  Benefits:  Solidifies understanding of student’s major  Helps students explore career fields  Medical Schools value research

How do I find research that interests me?  Find a topic  What is your major?  What interests you about this field?  Go onto  The undergraduate research page   Select either CNAS or CHASS  Search Department Directory

When can I apply?  You can apply whenever you’re ready!  If you want to participate in a specific lab, it’s best that you speak with the professor in charge for:  Specific application deadlines  Requirements  Policy and procedures  You can even make your own research proposal 

CNAS Example  If you’re interested in researching nematodes:  Search the faculty directory for a professor within the Nematology department  My example:  Prof. Paul De Ley  Phone #: (951) 827 – 2280   View website to better understand their work  You can often find links to other Department Research Opportunities

CHASS Example  If you’re interested on doing research in the Social Psychology department:  Go onto their website and look for information that interests you  My example:  Scott V.
