Climate On Earth

On a bright sunny day, the children, along with their teacher go for a picnic.

Suddenly it started raining

The children were amazed to see how the weather suddenly changed. The teacher then explained how it all happens.

Why did this happen?

It was because of the changes in weather. First,we need to know what elements constitute weather and climate. They are ….. Temperature Air Pressure Humidity Rainfall A study of these elements tell us about weather and climate.

Well, what is weather? I am looking for an answer…..  Weather can be defined as the condition of the atmosphere for a short period of time over a small area.  It changes every day.  It can be hot and sunny in the morning.  Rainy in the evening  It may remain cold and cloudy or bright and sunny the whole day.

Climate is the average weather condition that prevails over a large area for a long period of time. It remains same during that period of the year every year. CLIMATE Hot DesertsPolar Regions

Climate of Hot Deserts does not change but the weather may be windy or cloudy sometimes.

Climate of Polar Regions does not change daily but the weather may be cloudy or windy sometimes.

Does weather and climate influence the lifestyle of the people? Yes, you are correct…… Climate and weather does influence people’s lifestyle- food, clothing and shelter.

The food we eat, the clothes we wear and the houses we live in all depends on the climate of a place.

In hot regions- tents In very cold regions- igloos In regions of heavy rain- sloping roof In regions of less rain-flat roofed houses In deserts with no rain – mud houses. Types of Houses

What are seasons ? Has it got anything to do with climate and weather? How many seasons do we have?

A season is the division of the year based on changes in the weather conditions.
