Bible Belt  It is called the Bible Belt because protestant religions are the most common  Ex: Baptist, Evangelical Christians

The Corn Belt  The Corn Belt is a region of the Midwestern United States where corn has, since the 1850s, been the predominant (most popular) crop, replacing the native tall grasses.

The Rust Belt  Formerly the Steel Belt  As industry shifted (to the south and other countries) the factories and operations closed down…now it is the rust belt.

Mountain States  Named because they are in the rocky mountain region.  Most Diverse region of the US  This region has their own time zone  From manufacturing to ranching to agriculture, we have it all.

The Sun Belt  Including the states of Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Carolina, Texas, roughly half of California(up to Greater Sacramento), and parts of Arkansas, North Carolina, and Nevada.  Industries such as aerospace, defense, and oil boomed in the Sun Belt
