Healthcare Share Conference - Triton College Training Incumbent Hospital Management To Increase Retention Presented By: Stella Spalt, BSN, MS Business Administration Director, Center for Workforce Training Lewis and Clark Community College Sally Koval, MS Public Administration Assistant Director, Center for Workforce Training Lewis and Clark Community College

Purpose Increase retention of incumbent workers, both management and staff level

How to Do It Yourself / Implementation Plans Introduce yourself to the healthcare providers in your college district Offer to perform a Leadership Skills Training Assessment for them Give them a Feedback Presentation on the Assessment Results Provide competency based training to increase the skills of incumbent managers

Partnerships Created Hospitals LWIB - Critical Skills Initiative DCEO Business and Industry Center at Community College

Funding and Resources Needed Partnership with LWIB or other funding sources Partnership with vendors for quality, competency-based materials Partnership with certified trainers

Current Standing and Progress 34 of 40 Programs are completed Remaining 6 Programs are scheduled Clients very pleased with results Participants asking for more training

Next Steps Program valued by hospitals and other healthcare providers Procure additional funding for next year Provide programs with hospitals assuming the entire cost
