CG AAUW Bylaws 2015 Update – Why We Did It 1.AAUW National mandated changes 2.AAUW National recommended changes – Streamline and define the Board of Directors – Set the schedule for governance tasks: annual budget, officer nominations, notices, elections – Establish clear voting and quorum requirements 3.Simplify CG Bylaws – Policies and Procedures provide branch operational details

CG AAUW Bylaws 2015 Update – What We Did 1.Collected and reviewed CG AAUW member comments on the bylaws 2.Consulted with Jill Birdwhistell, Ph.D., AAUW Chief Operating Officer 3.Revised Bylaws to align with National and incorporated member comments 4.Made additional revisions of Bylaws incorporating Jill’s recommendations

CG AAUW Bylaws 2015 Update – Next Steps 1.Announce in Monthly Calendar when bylaws will be available on line 2.Post bylaws on the website at least 30 days prior to October 15 3.Presentation of bylaws at September 17 meeting 4.Questions taken at meeting and via or phone 5.Confirm number of members needed for quorum 6.Ratification vote by membership at October 15 monthly meeting 7.Dates for election of additional directors and next board meeting set 8.Appointment of four additional directors per bylaw requirement 9.Revise Policies and Procedures document as required by references in the bylaws.
