3 Operations Manual (Reduced) Part 2 FORMATION OF MEMBER UNITS Petitions From Unit go to S&C Council, vote, to Board for vote Sections—25 Members on Petition, 50 Members in Area Chapter Formation—10 Members on Petition, 10 in Area Student Chapter Formation—10 on Petition Chapter Transition to Section, or another Section NOTE: S&CC and Board to review Bylaws as part of the process—by implication, you need to be governed by a Board, with Officers, and periodic elections. Non profit incorporation in your state/province is encouraged.

4 REQUIREMENTS FOR SECTIONS/CHAPTER/STUDENT CHAPTERS 8.1ALL, OFFICERS, BOARD, Nominating, Membership, Young Professional & Council Committee Members, MUST BE MEMBERS OF A&WMA. S&Cs shall keep HQ advised of the names, contact information and terms of all Officers, Directors and Committee Chairs. 8.2Annual Report to be filed annually. S&C Council determines format and due date. Most recent Bylaws must be on file at A&WMA HQ.

5 Operations Manual (Reduced) Part 4 DISSOLUTION OF UNITS 9.1On recommendation of S&C Council, the Board may declare a Section or Chapter inactive. On survey of Members, Board may authorize activity or revoke authorization. 9.2Board can revoke Section or Chapter authorization to operate under name A&WMA when it thinks the Local Unit has been “inappropriate” or “improper” (Board Policy 3.2). 9.3Procedures for Decommissioning

6 Operations Manual (Reduced) Part 5 FINANCE 10.1Fiscal Year is Calendar (Grandfathering) 10.2Section Dues -$15 per individual dues Member -Paid to Section, twice a year -Sections make arrangements with Chapters -S&Cs are responsible for collecting other dues 10.4If a Section does not submit Annual Reports for two consecutive years, dues can be paid to the Chapters of that Section. 10.5Member Price Discount—All non-A&WMA members, including “Local Associates” must pay 125% of the member rate at all local events.
