When does campaigning start and why? Campaigns begin early to raise money in preparation for campaign activities. Presidential campaigns begin raising money almost 2 years in advance of the general election. House and Senate campaigns begin raising money almost immediately following their election.

How do candidates campaign? Candidates campaign based upon how voters vote. 1. Media Advertisements 2. Campaign Visits 3. Get out the vote drives (GOTV) 4. Phone calls and Text Messages 5. s and Regular Mail 6. Materials (signs, buttons, bumper stickers, t-shirts)
