The President is elected differently from all others who are elected to public office

4 How do the electors elect the President?
When the voters (citizens over 18) go to the polls to vote for the President in November, they are actually voting for electors from their state. The Presidential candidate who wins the popular vote in the state has his/her electors vote in the “real” election in December.
