 He was born April 28,  He died July 4,1831.

 James Monroe was a president from March 4,1817 to March 3, years.  The U. S. Bought Florida from Spain,1819 while Monroe was president.

 Monroe was the first to be become president outdoors.  He was the first president whose daughter was married in the white house.  Monroe was 58 years old when he became president. Five states were added while he was president. Then there were only 24 states.

 He married Elizabeth Kortright Monroe.  They had two daughters, one son.
