Based on voluntarily reported CY2007 emissions (41 facilities), GHG emissions could range from a fraction of a ton to millions of tons. (No PFCs reported) CO 2 : 4.1 tons (1,000Hp generator) to 2,128,403.3 tons (Pulp and Paper Mill) (No EGUs reported). CH 4 : 0.1 ton (dye & print co.) to 2,297 tons (landfill) N 2 O: 0.1 ton (dye & print co.) to tons (university) HFC: 0.1 ton (aircraft rework) to 1,674 tons (fiber mfg) 3

The GHG pollutant table heading will be visible even if no GHG pollutants have been selected. When adding GHGs from the pollutant list to the Operating Scenario, GHGs are listed alphabetically at the top. 4

AERO handles GHGs the same as other pollutants as far as adding, deleting, grouping and totaling. However, there is no Control Efficiency column in the GHG table. All GHGs are reported in Short TONS (tons). In the Facility Summary Report (Closeout Page), CO 2 equivalents are calculated and reported below the GHGs as metric tons (tonnes). 6

North Carolina Division of Air Quality 1641 Mail Service Center - Raleigh, NC (919) Future Enhancements related to GHGs to AERO. Non-permitted sources that only emit GHGs should be saved this year as U-GHG-XXX. In future years, these sources will be denoted as GHG- (removing the U-). There will be a column added to the GHG pollutant table for recording the percentage of GHGs that are anthropogenic. The column will have the header, Percent Anthropogenic and will be located between the Optional Emission Factor Tool and Actual Emissions columns. 8

Click on the On-Line Air Emissions Reporting link. Enter the contact information. Please check address for accuracy. 9

Shift-left mouse highlights a block of pollutants and Control-left mouse highlights discontinuous pollutants 11

The Facility Total Report on the Closeout page will total emissions as you add them and calculate the Carbon dioxide equivalence. Once all data has been entered, click Submit to DAQ button to complete the submittal. 14

Emission Source Type should be External Combustion for Boilers and Stationary Internal Combustion for Generators. Click Save & Continue. 16
