Terrorism Terrorism is a term used to describe the actions of people that use threats or violence against the state, politics, or religion.

Munich Olympics On September 5, 1972 at the Olympic games in Germany, Palestinians took hostage of a group of Israeli athletes and tried to bargain the release of them for the release of 234 prisoners in Israeli jails

Hijacking at Rome Airport December 17, 1973 Five terrorists pulled weapons from their luggage in the terminal at Rome airport. They destroyed the Pan American 707 with incendiary grenades killing 29 people.

Iran Hostage Crisis November 4, 1979 Iranian radicals seized the U.S embassy in Tehran holding 66 diplomats hostage. 13 were released but the other 53 weren’t until January 2, 1981

Bombing of U.S embassy in Beirut April 18, pound suicide truck bomb attack on the embassy in Beirut, Lebanon. 63 people were killed with 120 injured. Islamic Jihad claimed to be responsible

Berlin Bombing April 5, 1986 Two U.S soldiers were killed and 79 were injured in a Libyan bomb attack on a night club in Western Berlin, West Germany. U.S retaliated by jet bombing targets in and around Tripoli and Benghazi.

Pan Am 103 Bombing December 21, 1988 Pan American Airlines flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie, Scotland by a bomb placed on the aircraft by Libyan terrorists. All 259 passengers were killed

World Trade Center Truck Bomb February 26, 1993 W.T.C was badly damaged by a car bomb planted by Islamic terrorists exploded in an underground garage. Left 6 people dead and 1,000 injured. The men carrying the attack out were followers of Umar Abd al-Rahman.

Attempted Assassination of Bush April 14, 1993 Iraqi intelligence service attempted to assassinate former president Bush during a visit to Kuwait. In retaliation the U.S launched a cruise missile attack 2 months later on Baghdad.

Helicopter Hijacking In Ecuador a group of armed kidnappers led by former members of defunct Colombian Terrorist Organization that took hostage of 10 employees. Later on murdered American hostage Ronald Sander. The following were released February 23 with the payment of $13 million

Reflection Being ignorant to the topic I just assumed that terrorism was the one attack that happened on the twin towers and never really gave a second thought about it, but now knowing how many extremists were involved it would only make sense that there would be vast numbers of terrorist acts. This terror has been around for many years hurting lives, hearts, and even unions as a whole.
