Clusters Textile Cluster Cluster that will gather selected textile and clothing producers from the most of the branches of the textile and clothing industry, representatives from the fields of suppliers and consumers and R&D organisations. Packaging Cluster Cluster that gathers producers of packaging and packaging technology, their suppliers and service organisations. Technical Plastics Cluster Cluster of producers and processors of plastics, suppliers of input raw material and providers of related services in cooperation with research institutes and higher education institutes. Glass Cluster The idea of creating a Glass Cluster was presented by a team of specialists from the glassmaking and glass producing organisations and research institutes from the Liberec Region these days. The potential of the glass making and glass processing organisations in the Region has to be evaluated for Cluster creating, what should be the main instrument of strengthening their competitive advantage on the domestic and foreign markets.

International Activities Cross Border Cooperation Activities: Euroregion NISA – Cross-border cooperation among Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic, established in 1991 by the representatives of local associations from the Liberec Region, Polish Jelenia Gora and German Zittau, as the first Euroregion in the post-communist countries. Euroregion GLACENSIS - Euroregion Glacensis is a supra-national voluntary and non-profit association of towns and communities and other corporations in the territory of the North-East Czech regions and in the Polish territories of Klodzko, Zabkowice, Walbrzych and Dzierzoniow. R&D Projects: Framework Programmes – at least 51 projects of EU's 5th and 6th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development have been running or currently being run by the organisations within the Region.
