Now Is The Time To Help Yourself September 2005 Dear Colleague Joint Statement from BT and the CWU We are writing to encourage everyone in BT to participate in Work Fit. Work Fit is a unique 16 week health and lifestyle programme open to all BT people – men and women of all ages, shapes and sizes – which will be delivered almost entirely over the BT intranet and by . Each week, participants will be sent a simple task which will help them eat well, be more active and, slowly but surely, start to feel better. The tasks will also help participants lose weight if they need to. There are no fads, no gimmicks, no calorie-counting – just simple, straightforward and easy-to-follow information and advice. It’s also free – and completely confidential! Any personal information individuals place on the Work Fit website will be treated in strictest confidence. You can join the programme as an individual or as part of a team - either way, if you're one of the first 2,500 to register, you'll get a Tool Bag full of useful items to help you get fit. By logging onto the Work Fit website you can monitor your own and your team's progress and see how you're doing against other teams in the League. Those who stick to the programme and make the best progress will be invited by BT to celebrate their success (healthily). As well as helping yourself you can help others by getting sponsorship to raise money for your favourite charity. This new and exciting programme has been developed by the company working in partnership with the CWU Health and Safety Department, Connect, the Men’s Health Forum, Roche Products Ltd and the National Obesity Forum - with help from the British Heart Foundation. BT Work Fit – Join In And Help Yourself Ever thought you need to lead a healthier lifestyle but didn’t know where to start? Do you think you could benefit from having more energy, getting a better nights sleep (reduce your snoring!) or want to improve your sex life? Have you ever wanted to move towards a healthier lifestyle but not wanted to go through it alone? Do you hate the idea of faddy or fussy diets for losing weight?
