District Goal: Academic Excellence School Goal – Reading: Increase the percentage of students meeting standard in reading by the end of each grade level.

Strategies and Action Steps: Reading Implement newly adopted Journeys core reading program Implement alternate core reading program for students who are well below grade level and cannot access core materials Administer DIBELS Benchmark Assessment at beginning, middle, and end of year for all grade levels Administer DIBELS and Journeys progress monitoring assessments Continue to review DIBELS data and plan instructional adjustments Continue to administer diagnostic assessments, such as the Core Phonics Survey, to follow-up DIBELS assessment

Strategies and Action Steps: Reading Develop independence and sustainability in administering DIBELS, inputting data, generating reports, analyzing, and using data Implement periodic grade level intervention planning meetings during Wednesday PLCs Implement instructional schedule for which supports 90 minutes of uninterrupted reading instruction per day Plan expansion of the instructional schedule for to accommodate a reading block which includes 90 of instruction for all students, plus 30 additional minutes for reading RTI at all grade levels Provide summer school for all second graders who are below grade level in reading at the end of the school year

District Goal: Academic Excellence School Goal – Math: Establish a baseline of student performance and improve the number of student performing at grade level by the end of the school year.

Strategies and Action Steps: Math Continue to implement a supplemental, common core aligned, math curriculum at each grade level (Common Core Mathematics - New York Edition) Administer Common Unit Mid and Post Assessments at each grade level based on Common Core Mathematics program Continue collaborative meetings to plan curriculum implementation, develop common assessments, review student data Provide in-class Title I instructional support for students not meeting learning targets based on formative assessment data

Action Steps and Strategies: Math Identify and implement the use of a math screener, diagnostic assessment, and summative grade-level performance assessments Administer an end-of-year summative mathematics assessment to measure student achievement

District Goal: Climate/Learning Environment School Goal - Climate, Culture, and Behavior: Reduce the number of behavior referral as compared to the previous school year.

Strategies and Action Steps: Climate, Culture, and Behavior Participate in district Positive Behavioral and Intervention Supports (PBIS) committee Establish a building PBIS committee to develop and implement PBIS structures, to clarify and teach behavioral expectations, and reinforce positive student behaviors Implement Peace 4 Kids social skills and character trait program school-wide, providing Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 lessons and supports for students

Strategies and Action Steps: Climate, Culture, and Behavior Provide Peace 4 Kids Family Empowerment training for students and their families multiple times throughout the school year Provide “Peaceful Playgrounds” online training for all playground supervisors and implement the “Peaceful Playgrounds” program Review, disaggregate, analyze, and monitor student behavior data throughout the school year
