Life Church Epping Real Faith for Real Life Welcome to An Elim Pentecostal Church

A New Vision Life Church is a loving, inclusive, bible based community at the heart of Epping. It is our desire to demonstrate real faith working in real life, believing that when we choose to follow Jesus then our whole life, at home, work and play is impacted through living by his example and teachings as we are empowered by his Holy Spirit.

Real Faith for Real Life The Power of story A story is not always fictitious A story puts a human touch to a a series of facts Stories are used across the world to sell products and programmes

Luke 1:1-3 Written nearly 30 years after Jesus’ death Luke was a gentile and a physician (Col. 4:14) Luke was a companion of Paul His gospel was not a first hand account Theophilus – a friend of God (Theo-God, Phileo-love of a friend) A gentile likely in the service of the empire

Communicating our story In a postmodern world people mistrust the metanarrative – the grand story of history and everybody in it Our calling is the same as Luke’s, to communicate the story of a Saviour whose work we didn’t see first hand James’ two stages were: A) Historical (Gospel) B) Experiential (Acts)

Communicating our story As we have believed in the act of Jesus’ death and resurrection for our salvation we must tell that story in reverse Stage one – Experiential (Showing the impact of our faith in the present) Stage two – Historical (giving our understanding of what we believed happened in the past that changed our present)

Now, what’s your story?
