How Do You Know Your Healthy? By: Yvonne Covington

CarbohydratesFood James said, “You need about 300 grams of carbohydrates each day.” Carbohydrates also supply the main source of energy. A 5oz apple has 21.1 grams of Carbohydrates. One ear of sweet Corn has 19.3 grams Of carbohydrates. 1oz of cashews Has 9.3 grams Of carbohydrates.

Protein Look at my big muscles Protein also supplies energy and builds muscle, skin and internal organs. Peggy said, “You need 30 grams of protein daily”.

Fats and Sugar they have a lot of calories and little nutrients. I love sweets

Water Water is on of the main ingredients in the body. Adults should drink 8 to 12 8 ounce glasses of water a day. Children should drink half their weight of water a day. Children if you weigh 112 pounds how much water do you need a day? So how many cups equals 56 ounces? 8 ounces= 1 cup, so 8 x = 56 7

Calcium: Helps build and repair the skeleton and teeth. Found in : Cheese Milk Yogurt

Calories Measures the amount of energy supplied by the body. Fat has twice as many calories as protein or carbohydrates. Everyday you should eat as many calories as you use. Avoid eating fats or sugars. Get plenty of exercise. Vitamins, minerals, water, and fiber supply no calories.

You can get 200 calories if you eat one of these servings. 12 Steamed Shrimp 35 pieces of Celery 3 Slices of Bread 12 ounces of Orange juice 1 piece of Fudge 2 pats of Butter

Calories: Eat as many calories as you use. To burn 200 calories you could: Run for ½ hour Walk for 1 hour Sit perfectly still for 4 hours. I’m bored

Food keeps you alive, healthy, and strong. It gives you energy and makes you grow. Use the food pyramid as your guide
