HN’s impact on policy makers D. Catteddu, Cloud Security Alliance The scientific community has a clear need for powerful, high capacity and dependable infrastructure that can be used to advance their research without exposing it to data loss, corruption or intrusion. Secure scientific clouds can meet these requirements, and several projects within the EU have been set up to satisfy this demand, including the Helix Nebula project and through GÉANT. However, further work is needed to integrate existing science clouds, to promote their adoption, and to enhance their usability. Secure clouds for science applications offer clear benefits in terms of scale, integrity and confidentiality.
