The Great Wall By Alexa & Arianna

Imagine you are in China and your atop one of the 7 wonders of the world. The great wall!

The Great Wall helps China by keeping China safe from enemies. If people invade China they will have to get through the Great Wall first. The Great Wall did not always win the fight, so it had to be rebuilt a few times. The Great Wall has watchtowers and Beacon towers. People got armies on horseback to try to barge through. When enemies try to barge through the Great Wall its usually for there goods, that’s why the Great Wall was built and still stands here today. People invade China mostly for there silk and for there invention of paper.

The Great Wall Today Long ago in ancient China, the Chinese slaves were forced to built the Great Wall. Emperor Quin forced the slaves. They even died building the Great Wall. They died of starve, back pain, arm pain, and other bad things. Today the Great Wall is very long and huge. When people travel to china they visit one of the 7 wonders of the world. The Great Wall!!! When people go on the Great Wall, they get really tired because the Great Wall is very long, so it has so many stairs. Some people get to spots that has Brocken parts. That’s because the wall has been in China for so many years. Also there are Brocken parts because Gangues Chang broke some pieces of the Great Wall. That’s what the Great Wall looks like today.

Beacon towers Beacon towers are part of the Great Wall. One fire and a gunshot meant 100 enemies were coming. If the beacon tower lid up 2 fires and 2 gunshots that meant 500 enemies were coming. Beacon towers lid up fires and the fires were meant to warn the other towers. The Beacon towers would send a signal to the watchtowers. You can see the smoke more than a mile away. Beacon towers are one of the most powerful things on the Great Wall.

Watchtowers Watchtowers can help the Great Wall protect main China. Watchtowers have 2 Floors. The bottom part is for storing food, weapons, and for sleeping. The food is very very fresh. The top floor is for look out. The way they built the top floor of the Watchtower was dangerous. The way it was dangerous was, when you go to the look out part, there is no protection. If the Chinese was not careful, they can fall from the Great wall. The Great Wall is 3 stories high, so you can get a bad injury or even die. That is how dangerous it is. When the other towers gave the signal, the Chinese would take the weapons from the bottom floor and begin to fight the enemies from the top floor. That is how watchtowers can protect China from the enemies.

The Great wall helped China a lot. Now that you read this, you know tons and tons about the Great Wall.
