F IRST WEEK - INTRODUCTORY Introduction to the country context Introduction to the regional products and their role in rural diversification and development. Information on regional product development in Nitra region

S ECOND AND THIRD WEEK – TRAINING AND FIELD RESEARCH Training on mapping techniques Field research – tasks

T RAINING STRUCTURE Monday – – Mapping resources and products – designing the mapping tool – Development of products - setting up the list of criteria Tuesday – – The role of people and leadership, preparing the social map – Management of regional products, proposing the managements structure and tools – – Marketing of regional products, proposing the marketing mix

F INAL REPORT There will be two reports in the Nitra Case study 2012: One prepared by the group of students conducting field research in Roznava region One prepared by the group of students conducting field research in Nitra region

T HE STRUCTURE OF THE FINAL REPORT Introduction (1 page max reflecting objectives of the case study) The general description of the region(2 pages max- separate for each LAG) The outcomes of screening resources including collected pictures, and resource map (max 10 pages). The outcomes of screening existing products (max 5 pages) The list of criteria used for assessing regional products in the region (max 2 pages) For group in NR region, description of 2 additional regional products proposed by students, including photo material (max 5 pages) Conclusions and recommendations in relation to regional product development at respective local levels. (max 2 pages) Common outcomes of the workshop on conclusions and recommendations for local, regional and national level in relation to regional product development (maximum 3 pages)
