Enhancing Interaction between the DNA Forum and the Executive Board Presented by: Albert Altarejos MAGALANG DNA Forum Chairing Committee

Participation in the CDM Roundtable meetings as arranged by secretariat and to provide inputs to the agenda Regular participation of an EB representative (e.g. EB Chair/Vice-Chair) in the DNA Forum meetings Regular attendance of the DNA Co-Chairs in EB meetings as observers Conduct of a workshop on standardized baseline with participation of the EB (the secretariat to facilitate in finalizing this proposal as requested in previous DNA forum meetings) Conduct of regular hearings to give the DNAs the opportunity to present their concept of standardized baseline (as well as guidelines for GEF) To establish sustained online communication with the EB thru the Secretariat DNAs Proposal for enhanced interaction with the EB

The interaction between CDM EB and DNAs is not sufficient at present but there are some procedures already in place enabling DNAs to forward questions to CDM EB, in a written form. -Suggestion: written questions to the EB and the answers from EB to these questions should be published at DNA extranet (transparency and accessibility of information) To improve communication, certain questions could also be transmitted via new channel, through DNA Forum by means of co- chairs participation in EB meetings. DNA forwarding question has to provide all relevant information. If the questions refer to the already existing guidelines/tools/methodologies, they should be answered by the Secretariat Specific Recommendations

The existing channels of direct communication should be maintained as well as thru written questions. Questions should not be limited to pre-agreed issues only. Regional meetings among DNAs should be more often with occasional involvement of other stakeholders (e.g. DOEs) More regional DNA meetings in order to have more opportunity to discuss problems face to face and to submit those issues thru the Co Chair in order to inform the CDM EB. Every country still has the the right to raise some issues to EB by it is own. Specific Recommendations

Thank You
