2013 Sail-a-bration! 2016

ICEA has signed on with ACNM on the Healthy Birth Initiative. I am now a member of the ACNM HPI task force and am helping to get the information distributed and available to doulas, childbirth educators and lactation consultants. Other organizations we have looked at to support and to form collaboration include: The White Ribbon Alliance, World Organization Perinatal Education Associations ( OMAEP), Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA), Baby Friendly USA, 1000 Days Project, AIMS Ireland, Global Perinatal Initiative, Academy of Women’s Obstetrical Neonatal Nurses (AWOHNN), Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH). I have responded to the Similac media campaign negatively portrayed breastfeeding women and moms in general. Currently working on a response to the negative article on contaminants in breastmilk. I have worked on group projects to help with the ICEA vendor booth and to help create a speakers bureau. I will continue to review organizations for collaboration and be ready to respond to misinformation in the media.
