Science Fair Project

Science Fair Project - Purpose  To give the student a better understanding of the dynamic nature of God’s awesome creative power – this can be ours as well. Genesis 1:1; 1:26  Gain a greater understanding of the “Creation Mandate” – we are commanded to subdue and have dominion – Man solving problems caused by Sin. Genesis 1:29-31  Learn how to apply the “Scientific Methodology” – the steps to be used in performing experiments. Genesis 2:1-3

Science Fair Project - Steps  Pick an experiment (research begins) – keep it simple, area of interest, plan to do it thoroughly  Hypothesis – this is students educated guess as to what results will be – should be a confident statement of what will happen  Research Paper – Began with finding project, continues with research of “key” areas affecting experiment, culminates with results/findings of experiment  Project Board – this is board which represents what was done and learned

Science Fair Project – Project Board  Title – in the form of a question  Purpose – what is experiment to explore/find out  Hypothesis – educated guess of what will happen  Procedure – steps of the experiment  Results – what did happen (can be different than hypothesis) – Illustrate results with pictures, charts, graphs etc.  Conclusions – what was learned, who helped  Abstract – summarizes the entire project (purpose, hypothesis, results, information learned)  Biblical Application – this is a Bible verse/principle that relates to experiment done.  Logbook – this is where observations made during experiment were recorded, notebook style.  Research Paper – this is in the final draft form with section on results.  Supporting Materials (if appropriate) – materials (safe) used in the experiment can be displayed w/board.
