Development of an online platform to serve as EU-wide marketplace for citizen investment in RES projects CITIZENERGY is a project that builds on know-how developed within the EU to implement citizen renewable energy projects CITIZENERGY will: promote synergies between projects identify barriers to citizen investment promote the European transfer of main business models match citizen investors with new RES projects in Europe PROJECT SUMMARY

Target Group

Main Barriers 1.Fundraising difficulties This project will be a tool to facilitate setting up of community energy initiatives of different types, disseminating investment opportunities and engaging citizens. 2.Cultural and linguistic constrains within the EU Member States The platform will be available in different EU languages ( the languages of countries in the consortium.) Other needs, such as legal documents translation, will be evaluated. 3.Different regulatory frameworks across EU Member States. The CITIZENERGY project will analyse the different frameworks of MS in the action and provide tailored investment options, including transnational investment where allowed.

Outputs 1.An online platform to serve as EU-wide marketplace for citizen investment in RES projects: platformwww.citizenergy.eu 2.Boosting effective citizen engagement and investment in RES projects : Attract more than unique visitors to the platform, Inform citizens Motivate at least 6000 citizens to invest in RES projects At least 6 of the new projects registered in the platform WP5 successfully funded 3.Setting up of an EU level stakeholder's network on citizen RES policy gathering, at least, 25 relevant actors of different types in the citizen energy initiatives field 4.Identification of national/EU legal barriers to engagement and investment by national and foreign citizens in RES projects, in the countries included in the project.
