How the body responds to stress  Physiological release of adrenalin and hydrocortisone (cortisol)  Short term – some biological mechanisms are shut down to conserve energy for fight or flight  Long term – impacts physiological, psychological & emotional areas negatively (i.e., suppression of immune system)
