Assessment Objectives Keyboard: 25wpm (L1) 35wpm (L2) Demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas: –Accurate keyboarding. –Proof-reading and error correction. –Appropriate use of stationery. –Intelligent display. –Consistency of style. –Planning and organising work within deadlines.

Assessment Objectives Follow written instructions. Produce routine business documents using a computer. Present documents attractively using a businesslike, appropriate and consistent format. Ensure documents are acceptable for signature by a line manager: accurate and mailable.

Timing Level 1:Level 1: 1 hour 40 minutes –10 minutes studying the instruction sheet and the in-tray document. –1 hour 30 minutes on transcription of the 3 documents and on proof-reading. Level 2:Level 2: 2 hours –10 minutes studying the instruction sheet and the in-tray document. –1 hour 50 minutes on transcription of the 4 documents and on proof-reading.

Answer Formats Level 1 produce 3 documents: –1 Business letter –1 Memo –1 Informative document (report – article – information sheet – programme – checklist) Total word count: 625 approx. Any businesslike format is accepted (if used consistently – use of American spelling and presentation conventions)
