 The medal of honor is an award for people who are in action against an enemy of the United States. It is awarded for acts of bravery and heroism.

 Douglas MacArthur was a General for the U.S. Army in WWII.

 MacArthur was born on January in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was married to Mary MacArthur. MacArthur attended West Texas Military Academy in June MacArthur earned merits out of , graduating first in his class and having the third highest score ever recorded.

 Douglas MacArthur was awarded the medal of honor for his acts and leadership in keeping the Philippine islands from be overtaken by the Japanese. MacArthur also kept selflessness by promising to return after being relocated by the president on February 1942 when the Japanese got a grip on the Philippines.

 MacArthur is selflessness as he cared about his troops there were stationed with him in the Philippines. He was reported to be evacuated by the president when the Japanese started to invade the Philippines. MacArthur promised he would return. The president ordered that MacArthur revoke his statement, but he refused. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for this as his values were of great importance.
