Photovoltaics is a relatively very complicated subject. Understanding solar cell and solar modules function needs relatively broad knowledge from the field of: material physics and technology solar cell structure and technology both power and control electronics Some basic knowledge solar physics and meteorology are very important for proper system projection and realisation.

Solar cell measurements are performed on standard square (102 mm x 102 mm) silicon cells (both single-crystalline and poly-crystalline) A V Task: Experimentally find dependencies of U OC, I SC, P m, FF of parameter above

For measurements on modules are used 26 W p standard modules Task: - experimentally find optimum conditions for charging batteries - experimentally find relations between PV module and inverter output parameters

In the year 2001, a 3kW p demonstration, on-grid connected photovoltaic system has been built at the Czech Technical University in Prague on the roof of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Installed peak power: 3180 W p Total module area: 26 m 2 Number of modules: 30 (3 fields of 10)

CONCLUSIONS The course on Solar Energy Exploitation Systems performed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague has been developed. The course both device and application approach with application oriented laboratory measurements tasks. The course has become suitable for all branches of study in the field of electrical engineering.
