1 1erColloque International sur Hydrocarbures, Energies et Environnement (HCEE) Ouargla les 23 et/24 Novembre 2014 Efficiency analysis of different photovoltaic module technologies under semi-humid climate conditions L AZHAR L ALOUI 1, M OHAMED B OUAFIA 1 1 Laboratory of Applied Optics, Optics and Precision Mechanics Institute, University Sétif 1 E-mail: Lalaoui_lazhar@hotmail.com, Bouafia_med@yahoo.fr ABSTRACT - In-situ analysis have been realized in order to investigate the efficiency of photovoltaic modules made by different technologies. The photovoltaic modules have been submitted to characterization tests (Flasher, and electroluminescence). The outdoor exposure of photovoltaic modules has allowed us to submit modules to semi- humid climatic conditions involving a complex combination of factors (solar radiation, wind, rain, heat…) causing degradation over time. Therefore, this combination of factors has an impact on the analyzed photovoltaic module efficiency. Using the measuring device PVPM 1000C100, different electrical characteristic of the photovoltaic module during exposure in natural site have been determined. Depending on the environment, each technology has advantages and disadvantages, so to optimize PV performance, it is necessary to make a meteorological analysis on the geographical location. Through techniques of electrical and optical characterization of PV modules (Flasher, electroluminescence), we can determine actual electrical and mechanical faults located in solar cells, which may explain any decrease in photovoltaic efficiency. perspective in order to develop a standardization of photovoltaic modules working in arid and semi-arid conditions, and by in-situ analysis of photovoltaic efficiency, it’s necessary to install in arid site, to make a comparison between the influence of the two sites (semi- humid, arid).
