The polycrystalline silicon cells in the solar panels average is 12.8 percent conversion efficiency. Because solar panels produce dc current. Google claims to use a very efficient set of inverters that changes the current into usable ac with an average of 96 % conversion.

The technical and experts are claiming the cost between $3 (min) to $10 (max) per Watt of power installed depending upon the location and intensity of sunlight in US. The electricity prices rises by double and sometimes quadruple but the prices of solar panel will remain constant as far as the consumption remains constant.
