STAYING SAFE ON THE INTERNET
Presentation transcript:

By: Mackie Chapman, November 5th, IT 9, Block 2

Learning about computer safety may seem like a waste of time, but it is really important to learn how to keep yourself safe and protected online. The internet may look safe and fun, but there are a lot of things that people don’t know about the internet. Social media sites are especially important to be safe on. Cyber bullying takes place just as much as physical bullying and it is important to try and protect yourself from it. Also, downloading files online can be a dangerous business. Since the invention of the internet, plagiarism and copyright issues have happened WAY more often. All in all, keeping yourself safe online help can protect you in the future.

Never give out personal information If it looks too good to be true, it probably is Never download unauthorized files Block those who you don’t know Flag people you don’t trust

Ergonomics is the study of how efficient a workplace is. Ergonomics should be important to everyone because, if everyone is efficient then the work will go a lot faster. Employers and employees should be especially concerned with ergonomics because as I said in the sentence above, work will go a lot faster. I’m pretty sure that everyone would like to go home or get the work done earlier. It overall makes the workplace more efficient. I would not want to work in a workplace that is not ergonomic because nothing would ever get done in time. This means, a lot more hours at work and a lot less time doing other things that you would like to do.

I decided to compare two chairs. One of the chairs is a plastic desk chair and the other is a comfortable office chair. Obviously the chair on the top is less ergonomic because it is not as comfortable. If workers are not comfortable they will not get as much work done. The chair on the bottom is more ergonomic because it is comfortable. It will be easier to focus on the work at hand. If you are comfortable, you wont’ get distracted by being uncomfortable. And everybody wants to get their work done faster!

Intellectual property is anything that YOU have made and is YOUR original ideas. It can be anything from your inventions to your writing.

File sharing in Canada is illegal. (Chauvin) Although, some parts of file sharing are legal. This question does not really have a yes or no answer because there are lots of little parts. Lots of law firms are trying to change this, because it is causing lots of problems. There is only one anti- piracy enforcement firm in Canada, called Canipre. Canpire provides forensic services to copyright-holders in Canada.

I think that file sharing should be illegal in Canada and well, everywhere. I wouldn’t want somebody stealing my hard work, would you? File sharing is wrong. It is stealing and cheating. Sharing files online is very easy to do and that’s why people want to do it. They want to take the easy road. It should be illegal because it is just like stealing, but online. In school, if you use a random essay you found online, you won’t learn anything. The teachers wouldn’t tell you to do the work if you don’t learn anything from it.
