5 EURES n:o EIE/04/086/S Aims: To introduce and foster implementation of best practises in RES-heat markets in five regions. Thsese areas will serve as demonstration and dissemination areas for future projects. Extensive know-how transfer between the regions Dissemination of exmples of succesfull implementation to other regions

5 EURES n:o EIE/04/086/S Activities WP.1.a. Project management and coordination WP1.b. International co-operation consists of coordination activities of: –Training of key people at each areas –Support of training activities within the areas –Extensive exchange of experts during feasibility study and demonstration phases

Sufficient know-how –Key actors from all regions will be trained in Finland –Training continues at all areas and is supported by experts from Finland and other areas with already activities and expertise in RES-Heat, transfer from team member training to training of local experts

Right technical solutions –Feasibility studies have been completed and the work continues with more detailed case studies –Technical and economical suitability is confirmed by case studies and demonstrations –Demostrations have been carried out and even the main demonstration phase is ahead, first investment decisions based on project recommendations are expected soon

5 EURES n:o EIE/04/086/S Activities WP.4.Right business solutions –Right business solutions will be developed for the areas based on the findings during the study and demonstration period –Established and well known business models will be used as base but the models will be fitted to the special requirements of each region –Models may include e.g. fuel supply, harvesting, heat entrepreneur, plant operator etc. models

5 EURES n:o EIE/04/086/S Activities WP-5.Dissemination –Dissemination will be carried out within the regions during the project, specially during demonstration phase –Results will be disseminated nationally at each country and in iternational events –Final conclusions will be disseminated EU wide in selected conferences, papers and at project website

5 EURES n:o EIE/04/086/S Expected results Five functioning RES-heat market areas which serve as practical examples for surrounding regions The areas serve as development bench for priming practical operations In Lithuania the project have assisted to set up full scale fuel delivery chain for 60 MW biomass CHP plant, 150 persons, 20 SME´s involved In Catlonia project has demonstrated full chain from forest to heat customer and the heating plant is in operation New plants in Germany and development of fuel supply chain, demonstration of new tehnology 20 Business plans or start-ups of new businesses in RES-Heat, five business plans completed and 17 under development
