What we are going to find out about Portrait Painting 1. Visual language – we will find out how to describe portraits in terms of:  Colour  Composition (background and pose)  Application of paint  Tone  Texture  Pattern  Contrast 2. We will look at examples of the work of artists from Europe in the 1600s and France in the 1800s. 3. We will learn about the people in the paintings.
