The Return of the King J.R.R. Tolkein Modified by Megan Burd - WLHS

Chapter 1 Gandalf and Pippin arrived at Gondor to warn everyone of the war. WAR!

Chapter 2 Other members of the fellowship were fighting in different armies. All together they were able to save the area.

Chapter 3 Soon, Gandalf, Aragorn and the members of the fellowship met and drove the remainder of Sauron’s armies back.

Chapter 4 However, Sauron had many more soldiers that were on their way to fight.

Chapter 5 The fellowship needed to continue to fight so that Frodo could get to Mt. Doom and destroy the ring.

Chapter 6 Sam and Frodo had escaped and were making their way to Mt. Doom. It was a dangerous journey.

Chapter 7 When they reached Mt. Doom, the magic power of the ring worked on Frodo. He wanted to keep it and be powerful.

Chapter 8 Sam tried to help Frodo. What they did not realize was that Gollum had followed them.

Chapter 9 Gollum began to fight with Frodo to get the ring. In the struggle he grabbed the ring and fell into Mt. Doom. Mt. Doom destroyed both he and the ring.

Chapter 10 With the ring destroyed, Sauron’s armies could no longer fight. He was banished forever.

Chapter 11 The evil creatures also disappeared. Aragorn was crowned king and took good care of the people.

Chapter 12 Frodo and the others returned to the shire which the hobbits and the fellowship had fought hard to protect.

Chapter 13 Frodo was tired and wounded from battle. He and Bilbo decided to sail over the Sea to the undying lands, where they could find peace and quiet.
