1. Lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring
Translation= one ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them. This is actually part of an poem in the black speech of Mordor. In the common tongue, it is somewhat alike to what you’ll see on the next page.

2. Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky,
The dark lord is Sauron, the main evil character. He has all the rings of power in the poem, except the ruling ring, which has fallen into the hands of young Frodo Baggins. As long as the ring isn’t destroyed, Sauron remains alive to taunt all middle earth. So Frodo Baggins is entrusted with the perilous mission to destroy the ring at the only place it can be destroyed: the Mount doom, which is in the territory of the dark lord. In the land of Mordor.

Nine for mortal men doomed to die,
One for the dark lord on his dark throne,
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

3. Fun Fact
Elves are immortal, so they cannot die unless they are killed in battle. Take Elrond , for example. He is over 6000 years old! This rule is similar with numenoreans/dunedain,except they live up to 250 to 400 years.
The lord of the ring is…
A book written by J.R Tolkien about rings of power, MANY different places( middle earth, the Shire, the Mount doom, etc),and clashing of swords. If you are a strongly committed pacifist, don’t watch this film. I’m afraid I won’t be able to explain the whole story in this PowerPoint, as the story plot is far too long and would take more than pages to explain. My favourite character is Legolas due to his modesty and skill with an elvish blade. Here are some of the characters in The Lord Of The Ring:

5. The fellowship of the ring
Why I liked it:
-It had a good build up
-It had detailed description
-It built up tension
-It had an AMAZING story plot that only Tolkien could have thought up.
-The story is so vividly told that you can imagine each scene in your head, even if you’ve not watched the films
Who I DO recommend it for:
-Anyone who has a seemingly unquenchable thirst for upleveling their vocabulary ;) OR if you enjoy reading books that have pages and have good vocab. I can easily pick out a few of you who WON’T want to do this!
