Veteran’s Day College Prep November 5, 2014

World War I ended at 11 a.m., November 11, 1918 (the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month). The day became known as “Armistice Day.” In 1954, Congress passed the bill that President Eisenhower signed proclaiming November 11 as Veterans Day. What Is Veteran’s Day?

What is a Veteran? The brave men and women who have served in the military and protect US come from all walks of life. They are parents, children and grandparents. They are friends, neighbors and coworkers, and an important part of their communities.
